Summary

Myzel Organics grows organic functional mushrooms in Wainfleet, Ontario and sells them in bulk to supplement, food, pet, and cosmetics brands across North America. The website had to do the job a sales rep does on a first call: prove the facility is certified, publish the specs a formulator needs to qualify an ingredient, and route the inquiry by what the buyer actually wants, whether that is a quote, a sample, or a Certificate of Analysis.

The business problem

Ingredient buyers do not buy from a brochure. A formulator evaluating Lion's Mane wants the botanical name, standardization, particle size, shelf life, country of origin, and certifications before they will spend a call on a supplier. One combined products page gives them nowhere to land and nothing to rank for: the searches that matter are species-level and application-level, not brand-level.

Strategy

Treat every species and every application vertical as its own entry point, and let the page do the qualifying. Publish the technical detail that procurement and R&D teams screen on, put the certification and sustainability proof on the pages where it decides the sale, and make the inquiry form ask what the buyer wants before a human ever reads it.

Design direction

Dark, editorial, food-grade. A near-black canvas so facility and product photography carry the colour, one confident Myzel red reserved for action, and warm substrate tones on surfaces. Typography scaled for spec tables and technical profiles as carefully as for the hero, because the buyer spends more time in the specifications than the headline.

Development approach

Next.js App Router on Vercel, statically prerendered so every product, application, and article page serves from the edge. Species, applications, and articles are content-modelled, so adding a new mushroom or a new post is a data entry rather than a new page build. Semantic, accessible markup throughout, optimized imagery, and a single inquiry component reused across every page so the conversion path never drifts between templates.

SEO approach

One page per species and one per application vertical, each titled the way buyers actually search, for example 'Organic Lion's Mane Mushroom Powder | Bulk Supplier'. Product and Brand structured data on species pages, Article on every post, a full FAQPage on the FAQ, and Organization, WebSite, and BreadcrumbList sitewide, all aligned with visible content. A 28-post library answers the science, sourcing, and compliance questions formulators research before they shortlist a supplier, which is the same material AI answer engines cite.

Conversion approach

The inquiry form leads with intent: quote, sample, Certificate of Analysis, bulk ingredient inquiry, or general question. That one field routes the lead and tells the team what stage the buyer is at before anyone replies. Quote and sample CTAs close every product, application, and blending page, with phone, email, and WhatsApp for buyers who would rather skip the form entirely.

Results

An ingredient site that does the first sales call for you. A formulator can land on a species page from search, read the botanical name, standardization, particle size, shelf life, and certifications, check the facility and sustainability proof, and request a quote, a sample, or a COA without ever needing to ask a question the site already answers.

  • Dedicated product page per species with botanical name, standardization, 80-mesh particle size, shelf life, and country of origin, so buyers qualify the ingredient before contacting sales
  • Five application vertical pages (supplements, food and beverage, pet care, cosmetics, livestock nutrition), each opening a different buyer's path
  • Intent-routed inquiry form that captures quote, sample, COA, or bulk interest and stages the lead before a human reads it
  • 28-article library covering the science, sourcing, and compliance questions formulators research, written for AI answer engines as well as Google
  • Product, Article, FAQPage, Organization, and BreadcrumbList structured data across the site, aligned with visible content
  • Statically prerendered on Vercel's edge, so spec pages load instantly whether the buyer is at a desk or on a plant floor
  • SQF, GMP, organic, Kosher, and Halal certification surfaced on the pages where it decides the sale, not buried in an About page
